With a clear and sophisticated understanding of interpersonal spoken language under our belts, we have now turned our attention to text-language. We have uncovered a rich seam of language invention in this language form, which is undoubtedly on the forefront of the development of our language in the 21st century. Our primary focus has been on the relationship between spoken language and texting - and we have found that these two language types have some very strong commonalities. Speaking has strongly influenced texting, and texting has started to push some influence back!
